Adjunct Faculty- Horticulture- Small Farms
North Central Texas College is accepting applications for an ADJUNCT FACULTY – Horticulture-Small Farms: Gainesville/Corinth; part-time
Responsibilities include teaching SMALL FARMS (HALT 2321), a college course (lecture + lab). Class topics include instruction in small farming techniques with emphasis on horticulture science including comprehensive and profitable guidelines. Topics include herbs, fruits, nut, and vegetable crops. At the end of the class, students should be able to: Identify major physical and biological factors that affect crops; utilize innovative production techniques for a small farming operation; demonstrate creative marketing techniques for small farming operations; and design productive and profitable small farming operations.
The class is scheduled on Wednesdays, 2:30-5:50 p.m. in Gainesville. It meets once a week from August 26-December 13, excluding November 27. Compensation is $590 per semester hour.

Associate Degree in field and at least three years of work experience or Bachelor Degree/Master’s Degree in the discipline.
Degree awarded in field and at least three years of work experience in the area of assigned instruction confirmed by letter(s) from employer(s) or Bachelor Degree in the discipline. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Three or more years current work experience in a horticulture related field.
