• Chair- Nursing Programs

    North Central Texas College is accepting applications for a Department Chair, Nursing Programs:  Gainesville, Texas; Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
    Faculty member/administrator who serves as an instructional leader and manages the instructional and operational processes of the division. In addition to teaching, a Division Chair’s major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: strategic planning and implementation; personnel supervision; budget preparation and management; facilities and materials management; course and program development; and functions related to the planning, scheduling, and evaluation of course offerings; assessment and evaluation for institutional reporting.

    • Master’s degree in Nursing or higher
      Experience in an ADN / LVN program.
      Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas plus 3 years of experience.
      Previous teaching experience.
      Experience with nursing accreditation agencies (e.g. ACEN and CCNE) and state Board of Nursing. Experience with distance and/or hybrid education.
      Responsibilities & Duties:
    • Responsible for the planning, implementing, and evaluation of the Associate Degree () and Vocational Nursing () Programs.
    • Recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation of nursing faculty.Supervises personnel within division. Assures faculty utilize current technology-based and evidence-based teaching and learning strategies.
    • Recruitment, evaluation and acceptance of qualified students.
    • Development, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of curriculum.
    • Maintain programmatic accreditation standards.Coordinate and implement requirements of accreditation agencies.
    • Assures adequate faculty and clinical agencies for student learning experiences.Develop and maintain clinical site agreements.
    • Assures any grant deliverables are met appropriately.
    • Carries a teaching load of no more than three hours per week.
    • Budget planning, administration, and management.
    • Schedule and coordinate committee meetings; maintain open lines of communication inter- and intra-departmentally.
    • Complete and submit surveys as required.
      Division Chair works 18 weeks in a long semester. This includes the week before classes start and the week after classes end. (Does not apply to summer.) Subject to criminal background check. Travel will be required. Contract/Salary: 12 month contract; salary commensurate with education and experience. Resume and transcripts required in addition to application.
